I can not thank all of you enough for the donations given to Friends of Angel’s! The best way to express my gratefulness may be to offer updates of how your support is working.  Please also check the updated list of supporters on the Who are Friends of Angel’s page to see all who are helping with a great work here in the village.

Marco is doing great in her classes and visited last weekend. She looked beautiful. She said her most difficult course is chemistry and enjoys her botany lessons the most. Her grades are above average and she is excited to take end of year exams. I am amazed how she actually looks forward to studying and test taking! She asked if I could come visit her on campus soon. I hope to teach her how to use email, to bring her up to speed with the city-girls who came into college already having this knowledge. This will be important when she starts looking for jobs after graduation. Her first year is almost already completed!

At Isibindi Park, the renovations have finally started. New fencing, toilets, windows, and doors are being installed and/or repaired. I have rallied for this for over a year and am happy I did not give up. As the people watch the care taken to repair the community park and the children enjoy its new functionality, it brings happiness and empowerment to the village.

Next week we will celebrate Heritage month at the park with food funded by money given by Friends of Angel’s and perform traditional dancing with drumming by the children.

Girls GLOW Club is going great.  In November we will focus on new training modules, provided in Zulu by Operation Hope, to teach the girls financial security and saving money. Hopefully by the end of the month, each of them will have opened a bank account, with as little as 5-10 Rand, and understand how to balance an account, save money, and use a ATM card.

I am still amazed that it is all working. I hope to continue to be a vessel of your generosity and service to my beloved community. Thank you again, so much!
